Abstract

Laksmi GS. 2020. Impact of land use change and rainfall on flooding in Pekalongan city, Central Java. In: Herlinda S et al. (Eds.), Prosiding Seminar Nasional Lahan Suboptimal ke-8 Tahun 2020, Palembang 20 Oktober 2020. pp. xxx.  Palembang: Penerbit & Percetakan Universitas Sriwijaya (UNSRI).Pekalongan City is located on the northern coast of Central Java Province which connects Jakarta, Semarang, and Surabaya. Located on the main route to Java Island, Pekalongan City has strategic economic potential, especially in the industrial sector. This condition caused Pekalongan City to become the area with the highest demographic urbanization value in Central Java in 2006 and led to changes in land cover. Land-use change will have negative impacts if uncontrolled like the reduction in catchment areas, especially if the rainfall is high. This study is a literature study that contains the effect of land-use change and rainfall on flooding in Pekalongan City. Data and information come from various journals related to floods in Pekalongan City. This study aims to analyze the impact of land use change and rainfall on waterways in Pekalongan City. Changes in land cover and rainfall have a strong correlation. The reduced water catchment area causes the increase of flood index. Pekalongan City was categorized as a city that was not prone to flooding in 2011, but in 2017, all villages in North Pekalongan Regency were flooded with an area of 1,249,420 hectares.

Abstract

Dewi I, Langai FB, Supriyanto UB. 2020. Work capacity and efficiency of hand tractors for soil processing in tidal swamp lands type C and semi-technical irrigation in South Kalimantan. In: Herlinda S et al. (Eds.), Prosiding Seminar Nasional Lahan Suboptimal ke-8 Tahun 2020, Palembang  20 Oktober 2020. pp. xx.  Palembang: Penerbit & Percetakan Universitas Sriwijaya (UNSRI).The working capacity of soil processing machines is very important to test in order to determine the performance of these tools, considering that so far tractor assistance is top down not bottom up, so that tractor assistance designed in Java, which generally has alluvial lands, needs to be tested for its performance in South Kalimantan which generally dominated by swamps. The purpose of this study was to describe the performance of the hand tractor in tidal swamp land type C and semi-technical irrigation. The method used in this research is an experimental method without design and presented descriptively. The parameters tested are actual working capacity, theoretical working capacity, work efficiency, fuel oil consumption. The results showed that the actual working capacity and the theoretical working capacity of the hand tractor in tidal swamp type C and semi-technical irrigated land were 0.159 ha/hour, 0.122 ha/hour, 0.364 ha/hour and 0.371 ha/hour, respectively. Work efficiency is 43.7% and 32.9%. Consumption of fuel oil 0.48 liters and 0.71 liters.

Prima TA, Lianti AD, Munthe BT, Retno DA, Yasmin GRE. 2020.  Control of late blight disease on potato plants by using antagonistic microorganisms based biofungicide. In: Herlinda S et al. (Eds.), Prosiding Seminar Nasional Lahan Suboptimal ke-8 Tahun 2020, Palembang  20 Oktober 2020. pp. xx.  Palembang: Penerbit & Percetakan Universitas Sriwijaya (UNSRI).Late blight disease on potato is the most harmful disease compared to other diseases because it can significantly reduce potato production. This review aims to provide scientific information about Trichoderma sp. which is used as a bio fungicide based on antagonistic microorganisms that can control late blight on the potato. This writing was carried out with a literature review which was then developed to become an easy-to-understand review. Late blight disease in potato is caused by the fungus Phytophthora infestans which reduces potato production by up to 90%. This pathogen can damage plant tissue so that no potato varieties are resistant to this disease. Based on the studies that have been done, it was found that Trichoderma sp. acts as antagonistic fungi that can control Phytophthora infestans in potato.

Khodijah S, Irsan F.  2020.  Development potential of oil palm biodiesel with shrimp waste catalysts in south Sumatra. In: Herlinda S et al. (Eds.), Prosiding Seminar Nasional Lahan Suboptimal ke-8 Tahun 2020, Palembang 20 Oktober 2020. pp. xx. Palembang: Penerbit & Percetakan Universitas Sriwijaya (UNSRI).Oil Palm is one of agriculture commodity with huge areal dan production potencial in Indonesia. Oil palm biomass has been developed a lot as fuel such as Crude Palm Oil biodiesel. At the transesterification process, commonly using strong alkaline (NaOH and KOH) or strong acid (H2SO4 and HCl) as homogenous catalyst. Heterogeneous catalyst can be used in transesterification process instead of homogenous catalyst, one of them is CaO catalyst. The purpose of this paper is to know the development potential of oil palm biodiesel with CaO catalyst from shrimp waste in South Sumatra. The biodiesel product was analyzed with density, viscosity, flash point, acidity, refractive index, and calorific values. The quality of biodiesel product ie, Density 0,8666 g/ml, Viscosity 5,4982 cSt, Flash point 161 ° C , Acid Numbers of 0.2204 mg-KOH/ g, and the Bias Index of 1.4480, which has qualified Indonesia National Standart requirement for biodiesel product with the development potential of CaO catalyst from shrimp waste as much as 2,834-4,048 tonne in South Sumatra.

Abstract

Nursanty N, Hendrixon H. 2020. Determination of the best districts/cities in beef cattle production in South Sumatra province through quadrant analysis. In: Herlinda S et al. (Eds.), Prosiding Seminar Nasional Lahan Suboptimal ke-8 Tahun 2020, Palembang 20 Oktober 2020. pp. xx. Palembang: Penerbit & Percetakan Universitas Sriwijaya (UNSRI).Beef is one of the commodities needed to meet protein needs, because it contains high-quality protein. As the increasing rate increases, the higher the speed of beef production. The purpose of this study was to determine the appropriate area for the development of beef cattle by looking at the growth rate of beef cattle in South Sumatra Province in 2015 until 2017. The data source was obtained from the Central Statistics Agency. Based on regression analysis, the participation rate is very small on the rate of beef cattle production in South Sumatra Province. The results of the quadrant analysis resulted in four groups of surrounding areas that have low and high populations, regions that have low populations and low production, areas that have large numbers and low production with areas that have high and high populations. The feasible area for the development of beef cattle is the city of Palembang and Lubuk Linggau City, where through quadrant analysis this area has the most potential to have small quantities but has very high production. The city of Palembang has an average population of 7,858.67 tails with an average production of 1, 769,404.52 Kg and Pagaralam City 1,085 with an average production of 421,533.14 Kg.

Abstract

Andrea RM, Sudharto PH, Kismartini K.  2020. Non-structural adaptation strategies in facing tidal flood: case study of Pekalongan city. In: Herlinda S et al. (Eds.), Prosiding Seminar Nasional Lahan Suboptimal ke-8 Tahun 2020, Palembang 20 Oktober 2020. pp. xx. Palembang: Penerbit & Percetakan Universitas Sriwijaya (UNSRI).The phenomenon of tidal flooding in the coastal area of Pekalongan City has occurred for more than 10 years. Tidal floods occurred inundating nearly 51% of the total area of Pekalongan City. This situation has resulted in damage to all sectors, such as the physical, social, economic, health, and safety sectors. Adaptation strategies are needed to reduce the risk of loss which is quite high. A non-structural integrated approach can be done by optimizing the capacity of the community in areas prone to tidal flooding. Writing this manuscript aims to find an adaptation strategy in dealing with the tidal flood phenomenon, which is taken from the case study of Pekalongan City. The literature study technique is used to obtain a good adaptation strategy to prepare the disaster-resilient city of Pekalongan. The results of the literature study explain that the non-structural adaptation strategy that has been carried out by the Pekalongan City government is by optimizing actions that focus on increasing community preparedness. This increase is carried out through outreach/ outreach efforts, the formation of community organizations, and an integrated early warning mechanism.

Abstract

Prabowo W, Pratomo B, Irni J, Agustina N. A, Novita A. 2020. Application of dung and empty fruit bunch to elaeis guineensis jacq growth in pre nursery. In: Herlinda S et al. (Eds.), Prosiding Seminar Nasional Lahan Suboptimal ke-8 Tahun 2020, Palembang  20 Oktober 2020. pp. xx. Palembang: Penerbit & Percetakan Universitas Sriwijaya (UNSRI).In an effort to implement zero waste management in oil palm plantations, bunch ash which is a waste product from palm oil mills can be used as fertilizer for oil palm plants. This study aims to determine the growth of oil palm seedlings after being given different doses of dung from chicken and bunch ash fertilizer. This study used an experimental method with a factorial randomized block design (RBD). The first factor is chicken manure which consists of 4 levels, namely: Control (P0), 70 gr (P1), 140 gr (P2), 210 gr (P3) and the second factor is oil palm basket ash fertilizer which consists of 4 levels namely: Control (A0), 13 gr (A1), 26 gr (A2), 39 gr (A3). The data obtained were analyzed using analysis of variance (Analysis of Variance) with a significant 5%. If it has a significant effect, continue with the Duncan's Multiple Range Test (DMRT). Based on the results of the data analysis, it was found that the treatment of chicken manure did not have a significant effect on plant growth (shoot wet weight, shoot dry weight, root wet weight, root dry weight and root length), and the interaction did not significantly affect the growth of oil palm seedlings in pre nursery. Although some of the parameters tested did not show any statistical effect, the physical growth of oil palm seedlings produced seeds that still met the seed growth standards in the pre-nursery.

Abstract

Muthmainnah D, Suryati NK, Mulyani YS.  2020.  Efforts to increase the value of anguillid eels products through community participation. In: Herlinda S et al. (Eds.), Prosiding Seminar Nasional Lahan Suboptimal ke-8 Tahun 2020, Palembang 20 Oktober 2020. pp. xx. Palembang: Penerbit & Percetakan Universitas Sriwijaya (UNSRI).Anguillid eel is famous and as a luxury food, but Indonesian people's knowledge about this fish is still very limited. The study is based on public participation in answering questions posed through a questionnaire using the google form. The questionnaire was distributed by digital technology, namely the WhatsApp social media application platform. The intended respondents are aged 16 - 65 years and scattered throughout Indonesia. Data collection activity was carried out for three days in July 2020. The questionnaire was divided into nine questions, consisting of four general questions about respondents, and five questions regarding the respondent's knowledge of anguillid eel. The collected data were grouped based on the province of the respondent's domicile and age class. Data is displayed in tabulated form and description. The responses were selected based on a complete answer and got 1,100 respondents. The results showed that many Indonesian people are familiar with anguillid eel and know that it has high nutritional value. However, their interest in consuming it is relatively low because of the fish be like a snake. For this reason, the effort to increase food processing into a valuable product will facilitate marketing. It is hoped that the anguillid eel product will increase the selling value and the preference for consuming it.

Abstract

Safitri I, Yuliastuti N, Maryono M. 2020. Strengthening Social capital on the arrangement of the gumelem village slum area in covid-19 pandemic. In: Herlinda S et al. (Eds.), Prosiding Seminar Nasional Lahan Suboptimal ke-8 Tahun 2020, Palembang 20 Oktober 2020. pp. xx. Palembang: Penerbit & Percetakan Universitas Sriwijaya (UNSRI).Gumelem Village is one of the slum areas in the Pemalang Regency, Central Java Province. This area has characteristics such as high population density, narrow neighborhood roads, the location of the houses that are coincided, the house is narrow and the house is inhabited by several families, and does not have a private toilet. The formation of slum settlements is an obstacle in regional development efforts. Therefore, efforts to organize areas are needed. Besides, in the current pandemic era, slum settlements are among the most vulnerable to the danger of spreading the virus because of their high density, low access to drinking water, and proper sanitation for health. This research uses the Participatory Research Appraisal (PRA) method to ensure the active involvement of the community who is the target group and place the community as the subject in the activation process. The results showed that social capital in the community and the government was not sufficiently strong to implement. For this reason, the right strategy is needed to organize the slum area of the Gumelem village in the era of the Covid-19 pandemic.
